An Architectural Review of the New Tatarstan Library
Monument, reborn...
The National Library of Tatarstan is not just a beautiful interior. It is a rare example of how a heavy monumental building can be turned into a lively and open public space without erasing its architectural character.
In this video, we look at the new National Library of Tatarstan as a full architectural case study by xopapraxis : from the move into the former National Cultural Center “Kazan” to the new spatial logic created inside. We cover the exterior, entrance sequence, atrium, public areas, open stacks, children’s and teen zones, workspaces, and upper levels.
What matters here is not only light, materials, and atmosphere. The key point is how architecture changes the way the building is used: where it becomes public, where it becomes more focused, how it connects to the city, and why this project matters not only as a library, but as an urban public space in Kazan.
